Ooo-La-La

Made For A Friend

I have a friend who shares photos of clothes made for dolls and real people that she really likes.  She is also very generous. She has sent me fabric and some rather extravagant gifts.  This week I had the time to make something for her as a "Thank You!" for all of the lovely things she shares and sends my way.

This ensemble was made with tulle, lace, silk ribbon, satin ribbon and thread.  It took an entire day to make the skirt- it is even fussier than it looks.
Well, to be fair, I am very fussy about how I make things ;)~
I wanted it to look "Monster High" but still retain the bit of "naughty" my friend enjoys.

Remember, the drawing is on April 1st. - no foolin'!  Leave a comment and get an entry for the PB Fun Pack of goodies.

  2. Thank You Heather :)

If I can figure out a way to make things like it more quickly, you might see some in my shop. I am working on it!

  5. I hate working with tulle and netting BECAUSE of the fussiness but the end result always tricks me into doing it again. Love, love, love the ensemble!

    1. Thank You Tina!

There is roughly 5 yards in length of tulle in that skirt. Each ruffle is gathered and sewn to the next- that is what gives it the volume.
I also edged all of it with my machine...to wit my husband said as I was sewing that long, long edge:
"That is one long seam..." Yep.

    2. Ha! He's so observant.

I sew by hand as I am sans machine; that makes tulle's trickery that much worse! :)

    3. He is observant- he wasn't even looking- he was working on something and heard my machine going and going- seams on doll clothes are usually pretty short :)
